Aga Khan Health Services, Tanzania Joins Rufiji Health Day, Providing Free Screenings and Vital Medical Support

Dar es Salaam, September 7, 2024: Aga Khan Health Services, Tanzania, actively participated in Rufiji Health Day, organized by the Dorris Mollel Foundation, aimed at improving healthcare for premature infants and the wider community. The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Mohammed Mchengerwa, Minister of Regional Administration and Local Government and Member of Parliament for Rufiji Constituency.

A team of specialist doctors from Aga Khan Health Services offered free cervical and breast cancer screenings for women and prostate cancer blood tests for men. More than 600 individuals benefited from these vital health services during the event.

In further support of the government’s healthcare initiatives, Aga Khan Health Services also donated medical supplies worth over TZS 238 million, aimed at combating and preventing Monkeypox (MPOX).

Hon. Mohammed Mchengerwa expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Aga Khan Health Services for their collaboration with the government, ensuring that quality healthcare reaches communities across Tanzania.
