Dar es Salaam, 31st January 2026: The Kiafya Zaidi Fitness Club, a wellness initiative of Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam, officially launched its 2026 activities with a community run on Saturday, 31 January at 6:00 a.m.
The Club aims to encourage regular physical activity and foster a culture of movement among AKH, D staff and the wider community. The early-morning event offered participants a choice of 5 km or 10 km routes and brought together hospital staff and community members to exercise and connect.
In 2025, the Kiafya Zaidi Fitness Club organised a range of wellness activities, including weekly walking groups and community fitness sessions that promoted healthy lifestyle habits. Building on that momentum, the Club plans to expand its 2026 offerings to include more organised runs, sports tournaments, and additional group fitness and wellness activities to engage the community.
Through initiatives such as the Kiafya Zaidi Fitness Club, Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam continues to promote holistic health beyond clinical care—supporting prevention, active living, and stronger ties between the hospital and the community it serves.
